Frames & Frequencies: Diving into Digital Soundscapes

Jakob Montrasio’s Frames & Frequencies arrived July 7, 2025 as an 11-track exploration of glitch-ambient and rhythmic electronica, totaling 36 minutes and 12 seconds of immersive soundscapes  . The album spans from brief, sparkling motifs to longer, evolving pieces, all in high-resolution 24-bit/48 kHz stereo.

Concept: Why “Frames & Frequencies”?

The title evokes two complementary ideas:

  • Frames – frozen moments, like individual stills in a film reel, captured and reframed through audio processing.

  • Frequencies – the spectrum of synthetic tones, pulses and textures that animate those frames into living sound.

Jakob treats each composition as a sonic vignette, blending granular synthesis, broken beats and textural pads into an abstract narrative.

Tracklist & Highlights

  1. Neon Montage (2:58)
  2. Gallery Glow (3:09)
  3. Interface Groove (2:13)
  4. Transit Echoes (4:03)
  5. Light Trails (2:51)
  6. Frame of Mind (5:03)
  7. Urban Pawprints (3:18)
  8. Code Break Boogie (2:50)
  9. Circuit Timing (3:16)
  10. Shutter Mechanism (2:49)
  11. Final Aperture (3:42)

Standout moments include the dreamy ambience of “Interface Groove” and the driving momentum of “Transit Echoes,” each illustrating the album’s balance of stillness and motion.

Crafting the Sound

Jakob leveraged AI tools like Suno alongside custom scripting to sculpt every sonic element. Prompts ranged from “create glitchy percussion like rainfall on circuit boards” to “generate evolving pad textures that breathe with subtle movement”  . By iterating parameters—grain size, filter resonance, stereo field—he achieved organic complexity within algorithmic frameworks.

Final Thoughts

Frames & Frequencies invites listeners into a gallery of electronic moments, where the meeting of image, code and music sparks new forms of expression. It’s an experiment in letting digital “frames” come alive through rich “frequencies,” reminding us that even in a coded world, sound can surprise and move us.
