Wedding

Jakob Montrasio Wedding Photography

Weddings have a kind of electricity that never fails to move me—the laughter, the quiet tears, the tiny in-between moments no one else notices. There’s something magical about being invited to witness a day so full of love and meaning, and to freeze those fleeting seconds before they slip into memory. That’s what drives me every single time I pick up my camera.

I started photographing weddings for friends and family, and quickly realized it was more than just work—it was storytelling in its most emotional form. I strive to capture everything from the spontaneous, joy-filled bursts of laughter to the still, tender glances that say everything words can’t. Each image should feel honest, timeless, and deeply personal.

Every wedding, of course, has its own rhythm—its own heartbeat. That’s why I take the time to truly get to know each couple, to understand what matters most to them. The result? A collection of photographs that doesn’t just show a wedding day but feels like it—authentic, radiant, alive.

If you choose me to document your day, I’ll treat it as more than an assignment—it’s a privilege. Together, we’ll create something that can be cherished not just for a lifetime, but for generations to come.

My Approach to Wedding Photography

I work in a documentary style — observant, unobtrusive, and always ready for the unexpected. Rather than pulling you away from your guests for endless posed set-ups, I follow the day’s natural rhythm: the nervous excitement while getting ready, the charged silence before the ceremony, the first dance, the late-night laughter. The posed portraits we do take are relaxed and quick, so you can get back to celebrating.

Technically, I shoot with fast prime lenses that handle low light beautifully, which means I rarely need flash. The result is images with a warm, cinematic quality — rich in colour and soft in atmosphere, whether you’re in a candlelit chapel or an open-air vineyard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book?
Popular dates fill up quickly, especially during summer and autumn. I recommend reaching out six to twelve months before your wedding to make sure your date is available.

Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely. While I’m based near Heidelberg and cover the Rhine-Neckar region regularly, I’m happy to travel anywhere in Germany or abroad. Travel costs are discussed upfront so there are no surprises.

When will we receive the final images?
You’ll get a curated gallery of fully edited photographs within four to six weeks. Every image is individually colour-graded and retouched for a consistent, timeless look.

Can we see a full wedding gallery?
Of course. Get in touch and I’ll share a private link to a complete wedding story so you can see the full range of moments I capture.

I have a new dedicated wedding photography website that you can find here:
