Chronicle & Shadows: A Cinematic Journey Through AI-Forged Soundscapes

Chronicle & Shadows is Jakob Montrasio’s fourth 2025 release, a sweeping neoclassical album that blends piano, strings and electronic accents into evocative, score-like passages. Across twelve tracks and 43 minutes of music, Jakob crafts eight chapters of sound that feel both timeless and forward-looking  .

Why “Chronicle & Shadows”?

Jakob conceived Chronicle & Shadows as an audio film score—each piece a “chapter” (Chronicle) woven with moments of mystery and introspection (Shadows). Drawing on his background in filmmaking and AI experimentation, he used advanced orchestration models alongside live string samples to create narratives that ebb and flow like cinematic scenes.

The title reflects two sides of storytelling:

• Chronicle—each track is a chapter, unfolding a unique emotional narrative.

• Shadows—the quiet spaces, echoes and reverberations that give those stories depth and mystery.

Together, they form an audio film score—moments of light and darkness painted in sound.

Using advanced AI orchestration tools alongside real string samples, I treated each Suno prompt like a film director’s storyboard. For example:

From there, I fine-tuned dynamics, reverb and subtle digital artifacts to preserve the human touch within the algorithmic canvas. The result is an album that feels composed by an invisible conductor—guiding you through light, shadow and emotion.
