Chongqing - intense, chaotic, exceptional

On January 3rd 2018, I embarked on a two-day photography adventure to the sprawling metropolis of Chongqing, China with my brothers Jon and Joel. This city, known for its breathtakingly beautiful architecture, was the perfect backdrop for my Leica M9 camera.

As soon as we arrived, I couldn't wait to start exploring and capturing the city through my lens. We walked over 20 kilometers on the first day, traversing the winding streets and taking in the diverse neighborhoods. I was struck by the bustling energy of the city and the endless opportunities for unique and interesting shots.

We started our journey in the heart of the city, surrounded by towering skyscrapers and bustling streets. The architecture of the city is diverse and varied, from the Art Deco buildings of the 1930s to the modern, gleaming towers of today. I was particularly drawn to the city's intricate and ornate bridge systems, which offered endless opportunities for capturing the movement and flow of the city.

As we delved deeper into the city, we discovered a rich tapestry of cultures and traditions. The traditional markets, bustling with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to hand-crafted trinkets, provided a colorful and vibrant contrast to the sleek, modern buildings. The city's temples and shrines, nestled amongst the concrete and steel, offered a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the streets.

As the first day came to a close and the city lights flickered to life, I found myself with an overwhelming feeling of inspiration and excitement. I couldn't wait to wake up the next day and continue!
